UV vs GLOW LURE FINISHES:

Understanding the differences between glow and UV lure coatings, is key to knowing which one to fish and when. 


What exactly, is the difference between glow and UV coatings?

1. Glow coatings absorb UV light and and continue to emit visible light once the UV light source is removed.








  



2. UV coatings convert invisible UV light into visible light. This process produces a bright, glowing, visible light. UV coatings do not continue to emit visible light once the UV light source is removed.















GENERAL RULES FOR CHOOSING THE BEST LURE COLOR:

1. Water Clarity. 

    A. If the water is clear, choose a light colored lure.

    B. If the water is dirty, choose a dark color lure.

2. Water Depth.

    A. The shallower the water, the stronger the surface light.

    B. The deeper the water, the weaker the surface light.

3. Weather.

    A. On a bright, sunny day, choose a light colored lure.

    B. On a cloudy day, choose a dark colored lure.

4. Daylight.

    A. Before sunrise and after sunset, use a lure with a glow finish.

    B. After sunrise and before sunset, use a lure with a UV finish.
